Event Details

Inspired by Fela Kuti, the Nigerian composer, saxophonist, orchestrator, political activist and founder of the afrobeat, Serge Aimé Coulibaly presents a performance during which politics is brought out to be something greater than a simple dramaturgical note.

There are six dancers –soon seven- on stage performing in a constant alternation of movements and figure. This alternation signals the irresistible will for life and reflects politics penetrating human body. The dancers ‘speak’ a language full of elements from the traditional repertoire, the night club rhythms and jazz music that are soon transformed into a totally new kind of dance pouring out hastily free from its influences.
