Jazz fusion concert

Being a live legend of the Greek music stage and a world famous artist, Kyriakos Sfetsas composed symphonic, movie, theatre and ballet music as well as chamber and pieces for solo instruments, electronic and jazz music. In 1976, one year after his return from France just after the fall of the Junta, he created the Greek Fusion Orchestra. Following an invitation of Manos Hatzidakis, he worked at the Third Programme of the Hellenic Radio as a freelance producer and later on as director of the 3rd programme.
GFO is the accomplishment of his own ambition dating back to the avant-garde period of his career in Paris during the 60’s to offer a work that will expand the limits of Greek traditional music. He succeeded in creating a progressive jazz fusion masterpiece comprising complex and inspiring compositions and instrumentations.
Greek Fusion Orchestra never performed on stage that time period. Today- after 42 years- GFO, whose members are new musicians all selected by Kyriakos Sfetsas, presents for the first time its music to the audience.
