ET-MEN OR I BREATHE GEOPOETICS

An in-situ performance – concept and direction by Anna Tzakou. Shortly before sunset, performers Georgia Tenta and Marios Chatziprokopiou will execute an audio meditation, interacting with the historic spirituality of Yeni Cami.

With them, the audience will create a ritual of motion, light and sound, following the instructions of empathy, silence and stillness. As the darkness spreads throughout the space, the action transforms into a living mandala of bodies, each time expressing a prayer on the spot. The performance introduces a live audio sculpture that returns to the city as an experience of community. It coordinates mind and body in the present of the space, in order to reinvent individual and collective concepts of self.

Through the experience of a new ‘we are – together’ the participatory event takes the audience back, like a breath of fresh air, to the contemporary city, by redefining their history with it.
