Tsitsanis, Vamvakaris, Chiotis, Kaldaras, Peristeris, Yenitsaris and Tatasopoulos, ‘Acharisti’ and ‘Chorisame ena dilino’, ‘O pasatempos’, and ‘To magalaki’, bouzouki, baglama, voices and guitars set the infallibly authentic tone of Greek musical tradition, in a nostalgic event that will bring joy and emotion. The laiko – rembetiko band of the Music High School of Thessaloniki presents an anthology of unforgettable favourite laiko and rembetiko songs by well known composers, starting in Ismir and Asia Minor and leading to Piraeus and Thessaloniki.

The subject matter of the lyrics, well known to most, covers immigration and love, tough guys and prison, and poverty and pain. The octet includes students from junior high school and high school who love this specific type of music and through their dedication to it have managed to disseminate a significant part of Greek musical tradition.
