Event Details

In the most dominant mythological version, Europa fertilises the cultural pre-Hellenic era of the Minoan Kingdom. Plato in ‘Phaedo’ refers to the well-known world of his era as neither large, nor small. It is the geographic region that extends from the Pillars of Hercules to the Rioni River, the absolute limit to the east.
Our recent experience of Europe as a City/Continent that is searching for a collective identity, through multiple experimentations, in a framework that supports Schuman’s basic declarations regarding equality and true solidarity between the member-states of an enlarged family.
The awkwardness of present-day Europeans in dealing with ideological fluidity in every important sector of cultural development dictates expectations in order to create internal cohesion, while the artistic community itself activates systems of thought, making use of timeless symbols. Inventions, even paradoxes, decisively incorporate randomness into the visual adventure , as a catalyst of the creative process and act.
