MISSION CIMBALOM MARIUS PREDA

Born in 1977, he became acquainted with the cimbalom at the age of 4, and since then this unique musical instrument has never left his side. It has revealed him to be one of the top virtuosos in the history of jazz, having carried out collaborations with the greatest names on the scene over the years.

“Marius has been sent by God to give joy through his music”, stated the great Arturo Sandoval about him. ‘Mission Cimbalom’, the record by this master of many instruments who is part of the crème de la crème of the jazz scene, is a unique musical experience which Preda will perform live in the framework of the 52nd Dimitria. He will provide the audience with the opportunity to become better acquainted with the wonderful musical instrument that first appeared in Europe in 1867, and with its applications in modern jazz culture, while he will also play the piano, vibraphone, violin, accordion, the Andean quena and the double bass.
