Event Details

Marcus Stockhausen needs no introduction. Son of one of the most pioneering visionaries of the 20th century, composer and theoretician Karlheinz Stockhausen, he held his first concert at the age of four. He has been studying music since he was six years old, he collaborated intensively with his father, and gradually developed into one of the best trumpet players and composers of the contemporary German scene, moving with ease between jazz, chamber music and opera. A soloist, improviser and creator, Markus Stockhausen works with a number of performers and groups. However, a significant place in his collaborations with other artists is held by his work with award-winning jazz pianist Florian Weber. The two of them have been working together since 2008, while their first record was released under the legendary jazz label, ECM.

The duet will be at the 52nd Dimitria for a live performance of the inspired compositions on the ‘Alba’ album. Two of the greatest improvisers on the modern European jazz scene, in a wonderful concert, organised in cooperation with Goethe – Institut, as part of the ‘ANASES – Musical Worlds’ series.
