In the framework of the centenary celebrations of the Austrian Republic, the glorious Wiener KammerOrchester (Vienna Chamber Orchestra) meets internationally renowned Theodoros Kerkezos on the saxophone, orchestra conductor Myron Michailidis and Elena Christodoulou on the piano.
The Wiener KammerOrchester, perhaps the best chamber orchestra in Europe, and Theodoros Kerkezos, one of the most important soloists of our time, according to Grammophone magazine, will perform a programme to enchant music lovers.
The first half starts with the Greek Concertino by Mikis Theodorakis, and ends with Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Suite for alto saxophone, piano, and strings, adapted by Theodoros Kerkezos. In the second half the multi-award winning orchestra from Vienna takes us on a tour of enchanting classical Austria, through popular pieces and waltzes by W.A. Mozart and Johan Strauss. Wiener KammerOrchestra will participate in this concert with 23 musicians, string, wind, and percussion instruments. It is the first collaboration of the orchestra with Theodoros Kerkezos and it marks the beginning of a collaboration and tour for 2019.
