Colloquium: The living theatre of 1968

This year marks half a century since 1968 and events in honour and critical review are being held all over the world; from Paris to Chicago, from Prague to Hanoi, from Latin America to Belgrade, 1968, with all its positive and negative forces, managed to touch the entire world.

Paying tribute and reviewing that era mainly from an Alternative American Theatre perspective, this colloquium investigates the influences and the traces left by that era on other important fields, such as literature, film, music, philosophy, psychoanalysis, education, hoping to find the common thread that links the “affluent societies” with present-day “societies in crisis”.
