Carte Blanche

The exclusively arranged performance of ‘Snow White’ is arriving at the 53rd Dimitria after having travelled to many metropolises of the world. A site-specific event, specifically adapted to the performance venue, Catherine Baÿ’s project transforms the Brothers Grimm fairytale into a parable about the narcissism of modern society. ‘Snow White’ is the story of the mirror.

By placing multiple replicas of Snow White in outdoor locations and places with different cultural norms, Catherine Baÿ brings the audience face-to-face with their own reflection. Thus, the story character functions as a mirror reflecting a culture of illusions and mass consumerism.
