Antonis Sourounis: Monopatia & Thalasses (Paths & Seaways)

Three years ago, in October, the awarded writer Antonis Sourounis passed away. In October this year, we will try to make a gift to the writer, to the city he was born in, to the neighborhood he grew up in, in Ano Poli, Thessaloniki. The Cultural Centre of the former Islachane School of Arts & Professions, within walking distance from Mouson Street, in Ano Poli, where his home was located, is organizing an exhibition in collaboration with Kastaniotis Publications, the National Theatre of Northern Greece and the archive of ERT. There will be personal belongings and books of the writer, documentary viewing, reading corner, and 23+1 alphabet letters characterizing his work.

There will be also parallel actions: The event will include a theatrical performance by the National Theatre of Northern Greece, based on the “Path to the Sea”, a guided walking tour in the writer’s neighborhood, and a theatre-paedagogical educational programme for schools, designed on the project “The Walking Stick”. The exhibition begins on October 15th and will last until the end of December 2019.
