Based on the book by Nikos Stathoulis ‘Alexandros Iolas’, the anniversary edition theatrical performance ‘ALEXANDROS IOLAS’ that marks 30 years since the death of the great patron of the arts, will attempt to take its viewers on a journey through the surreal life of a man who lived like the hero of a fairytale and died like the hero of an ancient tragedy.

Christoforos Antoniadis has written, directed and selected the music for the play, while he stars as Alexandros Iolas. The performance spans his entire life, from his childhood in Alexandria to the last dramatic moments of a man who knew all the major artists of his time, experienced art and love greedily, but, alas, died alone: “Even the statues have left”.
